To pat someone on the back, gently raise your hand and lightly tap the person's upper back with an open palm. The pat should be brief and not too forceful, as it is meant to convey a gesture of support or encouragement. It's important to be mindful of the other person's comfort and personal boundaries when offering a pat on the back. **

To give a horse a pat, approach the horse calmly and confidently. Stand next to the horse and reach out your hand to gently stroke its neck or shoulder. Use a soft, open palm and apply light pressure to the horse's coat, moving your hand in a smooth, rhythmic motion. Be mindful of the horse's body language and response to your touch, and always approach with respect for the animal's space and boundaries. **

Additionally, a good modern horror film should have a deeper underlying theme or message that adds depth to the story and leaves a lasting impact on the audience. Examples of good modern horror films include "Get Out," "Hereditary," and "A Quiet Place." **

I would recommend "No Country for Old Men" directed by the Coen Brothers, which is a modern Western thriller with a gripping storyline and intense performances. Another great modern Western movie is "Hell or High Water" directed by David Mackenzie, which is a contemporary heist film set in the American West with strong character development and a compelling narrative. Lastly, "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" directed by Andrew Dominik is a visually stunning and introspective Western that offers a fresh take on the genre. **

One should avoid patting horses on the neck because it can startle them and trigger a defensive response. Horses have a blind spot directly in front of their face and may not see the hand coming towards them, causing them to react out of fear or discomfort. It's better to approach horses from the side and gently stroke their shoulder or back to avoid startling them. **
